We recommend closed-cell foams in all structures requiring very high R-values or in areas that may be more humid than normal. This includes below grade insulation or high humidity environments such as indoor spas or pools, hotel kitchens, cold storage warehouses and similar structures.

Half pound open-cell foam offers an R-value of 3.6 per inch plus air seal. The estimated equivalent of the air seal in terms of R-value is approximately double compared with conventional insulation. Open-cell foams are economical and easy to install. More importantly, the open-cell foams breathe - allowing residual moisture in the building envelope to dissipate. Nonetheless, the perm rating is low enough that the foam also is an effective air barrier. A significant percentage of the product is bio-based. Equally important: our blowing agent is regular old-fashioned water which forms CO2 inside the bubbles or cells of the foam. Obviously, this is completely harmless and environmentally sound!
This product is a closed cell foam. Due to its very high closed-cell contents, this material is waterproof, and thus very suitable in not so dry applications as listed below. Offering a very high R-value of 6.8 per inch, this material will achieve better than R-21 in 2x4 construction. The blowing agent is the latest generation 245fa which does not destroy the ozone layer.
Roofing foams have a nominal density of 3lb/cubic foot. At this density, foam reaches the required compressive strength of 45 psi – enough to withstand foot traffic associated with roof maintenance. Typically applied to low-slope or flat roofs, our foam offers a very nice R-value of R-14 at 2” thickness. Our PUF system is also known for its excellent adhesion characteristics on almost any substrate including concrete, ModBit, board stock, built up, and so on. Combined with CPI’s silicone coating, this roofing foam system has passed the UL 790 certification for worry free installation. Questions?
